Mark de Bruijn
Researcher into Social Robotics and Human-Robot Interaction
I am a researcher in human-robot interaction with a focus on the effects of task engagement in social and psychological robotics. My interest lies at the intersection of technology and human psychology. Pursuing my Doctoral studies at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, I am interested into research how understanding human psychology can improve human-robot interaction, aiming to bring together different areas of expertise to make progress in this field.
My current research revolves around task interruptions with underwater robots for long-term autonomy, and how to bridge the Sim-To-Real gap from virtual reality into the real-world (funded by the Office of Naval Research/ONR).
